CHINA: New Submarine Threat: U.S. General: China Pursuing Atlantic Naval Base

China Submarine Threat:

Gen. Stephen Townsend To AP: “China is searching for a place in the Atlantic to rearm and repair warships.”
China has been threatening it’s neighbors in the South China Sea for a number of years. Going to the extent of building islands near its neighbors for use as military ports.
Philippines President Duterte recently threatened China with, “war” if they did NOT stop encroaching on his nation.

Vietnam and Japan have also had serious problems with Chinese encroaching on their countries.

China is clandestinely moving  toward building a strategic naval port near W. Africa as a port for Chinese subs and aircraft carriers.

The Chinese now appear to be moving closer to US soil. With a goal of projecting  military power directly into the Atlantic.

U.S. military operations in Africa warned, “Chinese officials have been approaching countries stretching from Mauritania to south of Namibia in search of where to position the naval facility.”

China‘s military is close to establishing such a facility in Djibouti. Situated  over 2,000 miles away in the Horn of Africa on the Indian Ocean side of the continent.

“Now they’re casting their gaze to the Atlantic coast and wanting to get such a base there,”  he said in the interview.
